Sale for Kids Team Member Guidelines

Becoming a Team Member:

Team Members keep everything running smoothly and are a vital resource; we can't do the sale without you, the team members!

Here is some necessary information on becoming a Team Member:

Consignors, enter your consignor number and password in login (website).

First-time Team Members, use the link under the login to register and set up your account on the website. If you are consigning and becoming a Team Member for the first time, register as a consignor before signing up for shifts. Becoming a Team Member is not required but highly recommended.

Who can become a Team Member?

Anyone! You do not need to be a consignor to be a Team Member. Helping is easy, fun, and we need help every day doing many different tasks.

There are shifts during the day during the sale week, both during the week and on the weekend. Whatever your schedule, we likely have a shift for you! If you can't show up for a shift, we welcome spouses, moms, dads, and grandparents to come to your place so you can still enjoy our pre-sale!

Why become a Team Member?

Get a break from the kids and the everyday schedule *ADULT TIME!!*-

Meet other parents from the area, create new friendships!

Shop before the public sale, shop early!-Help keep the floor organized, so it's easier for customers to shop (so your items sell!)

Without our incredible Team Members, we would NOT be able to coordinate such an exciting sale! Thank you for taking the time to consider helping us at the sale and for continuing support from returning Team Members.

This sale wouldn't be such a success without YOU!

What does a Team Member do?

Team Members are asked to give us at least 3 hours of your time helping in many areas of the sale, ranging from,

Helping with Set-up (requires some heavy lifting and setting up of tables and racks)

Help in checking in items and assisting consignors by placing their inventory on the proper racks, tables.

Checking the quality of items for stains, wear, and tear, etc.

Help sanitize items according to the law using materials and gear provided by the Sale For Kids-Monitoring Salesfloor, maintaining the organization of things.

Provide excellent customer service during the sale

Help at checkout removing the item's tag and counting things for the cashier,

Help carry items to the customer's cars (runner)

Breakdown on Sunday (help sort items back to consignor number, break down tables and racks, help pack up donates)

Help maintain a safe environment.

Security monitor: monitor doors, check for receipts, monitor shoppers and fellow workers

**Set-up on Monday, April 19, 2021, the breakdown on Sunday, April 25, 2021, are the days with the most physical activity with the heavy lifting of racks and tables (Men are welcome to help!) for setting up and tear down.

Still, all days will include standing on your feet and walking for the majority of the day.

If you have any physical issues that would make these activities difficult for you, we have other tasks that can be done while seated.

Please contact me for more information at info@saleforkids.com.

What do I wear?

Dress for the weather (the buildings have no heat or AC, dress for comfort)

Pick up a volunteer name tag when signing in, to be worn during shift.

Wear comfortable shoes!

Team Member, Shopping Times

Please read this updated Team Member Shopping Schedule (chart at the top of the page).

Team Members are needed during all public sale times. Please consider helping us at these times! The number of hours you can help will determine what time you get to shop the Presale.

Please do not schedule yourself overlapping shifts as this makes us short on help.

 NEW 2021

1 shift = 3 hour

Team Members will only be credited for hours scheduled under a single registered consignor number for a higher profit percentage. No hours will be combined for multiple consignor numbers.

If a registered consignor has a family member who helps earn a higher percentage toward profit, they must be signed under the consignor number. Use the consignor homepage to sign up for a shift. Once the shift is selected, please email info@saleforkids.com to let Lisa know who will be covering the shift, for the consignor to receive credit for that shift.

If 2 people from the same family will be working the same shift, you must contact Lisa for approval and instructions on how to sign up.

Pre-sale passes will be per person working the hours and be verified off of Team Member worksheets.

Please honor your word and show up for the shift you sign up for.

7)***Team Members may not participate if they or a member of their household are experiencing Covid symptoms. Please communicate with Westmoreland Sale for Kids /Lisa if you/family member has been tested for Covid.  If test results are negative and cleared for work, you may resume your participation with Westmoreland Sale for Kids.

  • NO FOOD TRUCK WILL BE ONSITE THIS SEASON. Please bring a lunch if you need to. A refrigerator and microwave will be available.

  • Please understand that we need workers every day at Westmoreland Sale for Kids, and you are helping as an independent contractor and, by doing so, agree to the above incentives.
  • Please arrive 5 min before shift so you can sign in and verify what your responsibilities are.
  • Be sure to sign in and out for every shift to receive the correct percentage. Also, signing in and out is required for the business' insurance!
  • To be fair to shoppers and other Team Members helping, we ask that you not shop or pull items from the sales floor during your shift.
  • Refrain from using your cell phone during volunteer times
  • Please allow time for item drop-off before or after your shift if on Monday or Tuesday. We expect the shift you sign up for to be assisting consignors who are dropping off or helping to organize, not to be spent putting your items out.
  • Dropping off your items during your work shift is not fair to other team members.      Please plan accordingly.

Thank You in advance for taking the time to help during the sale.
