Sale for Kids Team Member Guidelines

Becoming a Team Member

Team Members keep everything running smoothly and are a vital resource, we can’t do the sale without you, the team members!

Here is some basic information on becoming a Team Member:

Consignors, enter your consignor number and password in login (website)

First-time Team Members, use the link under the log-in to register and set up your account on the website

If you are consigning and becoming a Team Member for the first time, register as a consignor prior to signing up for shifts

Becoming a Team Member is not required, but highly recommended

Who can become a Team Member?

You do not need to be a consignor to be a Team Member. Helping is easy, fun and we need help everyday doing many different tasks.

There are shifts during all times of the day during sale week, both during the week and on the weekend. Whatever your schedule, we likely have a shift for you! If you personally can't show up for a shift, we welcome spouses, moms, dads, and grandparents to come in your place so you can still enjoy our pre-sale!

Why become a Team Member?

-Get a break from the kids and the everyday schedule *ADULT TIME!!*

-Meet other parents from the area, create new friendships!

-Shop before the public sale, shop early!

-Help keep the floor organized so it’s easier for customers to shop (so your items sell!)

-Without our wonderful Team Members, we would NOT be able to coordinate such an exciting event!

Thank you for taking the time to consider helping us at the sale, and for continuing support from returning Team Members. This sale wouldn’t be such a success without YOU!

What does a Team Member do?

Team Members are asked to give us at least 3 hours of your time helping in many areas of the sale, ranging from…

-Helping with Set-up (requires some heavy lifting and setting up of tables and racks)

-Help in checking in items and assisting consignors by placing their inventory on the proper racks/tables

-Checking the quality of items for stains, wear and tear, etc.

-Help sanitize items according to the law using materials and gear provided by the Sale For Kids

-Monitoring Sales floor, maintaining organization of items

-Provide good customer service during the sale

-Help at checkout removing the items tag and counting items for cashier

-Help carry items to the customer’s cars, (runner)

-Breakdown on Sunday (help sort items back to consignor number, break down tables and racks, help pack up donates)

-Help maintain a safe environment

-Security monitor: monitor doors, check for receipts, monitor shoppers and fellow workers

**Set-up on Monday, April 20, 2020, breakdown on Sunday April 26, 2020 are the days with the most physical activity with heavy lifting of racks and tables (Men are welcome to help!) for set up and tear down, but all days will include standing on your feet and walking for the majority of the day. If you have any physical issues that would make these activities difficult for you, we have other tasks available that can be done while seated. Please contact me for more information info@saleforkids.com

What do I wear?

Dress for the weather (the buildings have no heat or AC, dress for comfort)

Pick up a volunteer name tag when signing in, to be worn during shift

Wear comfortable shoes!

Team Member Shopping Times – Spring 2020

Please read this updated Team Member Shopping Schedule (chart at top of page)

Team Members are needed during all public sale times. Please consider helping us at these times!

The number of hours you are able to help will determine what time you get to shop the Pre sale.

Please do not schedule yourself overlapping shifts as this makes us short on help.

  • Team Member Pre-Sale Passes will admit the PERSON who is working and their spouse and/or one minor child only
  • All Pre Sale Passes will be verified against Team Member schedule and registered consignor list. ID may be checked

  • Please arrive 5 min prior to shift so you can sign in and verify what your responsibilities are.
  • Be sure to sign in and out for every shift in order to receive the correct percentage. Also signing in and out is required for the business’ insurance!

  • Refrain from using your cell phone during volunteer times
  • Please allow time for item drop-off before or after your shift if on Monday or Tuesday. We expect the shift you sign up for to be assisting consignors who are dropping off or helping to organize, not to be spent putting your own items out.

Thank You in advance for taking your time to help during the sale.
